I’m Back?!

God! How long has it been? 4 months! 4 months? Wow! It actually feels like ages! I feel weird even now sitting here and writing this! It feels like something I’m doing for the first time ever!

Anyway… I don’t know exactly what happened! My best guess is I was blogging too much (almost daily for over a month) and I just fell into a huge blogging slump. Blogging slump? Is that even how we call it? I’m not sure! See? It really feels like I’m blogging for the first time in my life! Well, I have started really missing it for the past couple of weeks and so I decided to write this.

The YA Bubble

I recently wrote a post about how I don’t read diversely enough and it got me thinking why it is that I (almost) always read young adult books lately. I have a bunch of adult books that I want to read, but every time I’m in a bookstore, for example, I go directly to the young adult shelf. Basically, I’m stuck in this huge YA bubble and I can’t seem to find my way out!

XXX Content in Books

Hi guys!

So today I wanted to discuss the topic of books containing sex scenes. I have to say I haven’t read a lot of these books. Young adult books rarely, or maybe even never have these kinds of scenes in them, which I guess makes sense since they are directed to a younger audience.

What’s up with Memes?

Hi guys!

Today I wanted to talk about something that has made me kind of confused. I’ve heard so many people saying that they don’t like seeing a lot of memes on blogs. Publishers consider it as a negative to have a blog with many memes. Readers say they don’t really like seeing them. I’ve also seen results from other book bloggers’ surveys and they clearly show that not a lot of people like memes.

Hello everyone!

Today is just going to be a short post about reading variety. I think we can all agree that reading different kinds of books from various genres cannot be bad. I think it’s actually pretty good, because first of all you can test what kind of genres you like and second of all you might be surprised at what you find!

Ugly Covers – Pretty Books

Hello everyone!

I recently wrote a post about how a pretty cover can influence me into buying a book and how much of an effect it can actually have. So that post was what inspired today’s post where I want to talk about and recommend to you some of the books I’ve read that might not have the prettiest cover ever, but are still amazing books!

Series I’m Excited to Finish

Hi guys!

Let me start by saying that I’m terrible at finishing series. What I usually do is read the first book, love it and then tell myself (and also you) that I will definitely continue with this series soon! But how soon is soon, really? When I say it, I usually mean within the next couple of months. And what usually happens is I don’t read sequels until, sometimes even years after!

Star Ratings

The A to Z Challenge is an annual blogging challenge. It isn’t restricted to book blogs – all kinds of blogs can participate. Hello guys!

Today I wanted to talk a little bit about star ratings. You might have noticed that some book bloggers don’t use star ratings when reviewing a book and some do. I’ve even read a few posts from people who don’t generally use star ratings explaining why they don’t. The usual reason is that they don’t like putting books into “categories” and two books might end up having the same star rating when the level of how much they like these two books is very different.

Hello guys! Today I want to share some of favorite bookish and not bookish quotes!

I have to say I only recently started paying attention to quotes. I don’t know if it is just me, but I think that quotes in general aren’t as popular in Europe as they are in the States. Not that they don’t exist here or anything, but people don’t have a favorite one and I’ve never seen any quotes hanging on people’s walls or anything like that. Which is something that I really want to do now, by the way. I’m just not entirely sure where or if they would match in my room.

Procrastinating vs Reading

Hello guys!

So today I’d like to talk about a problem I’ve been having. PROCRASTINATION. I just can’t stop doing it. Because when is it ever over? With the possibilities (and by that I mean the internet) available nowadays when can one ever stop? I honestly don’t remember myself procrastinating that much 6-7 years ago. The internet was not yet as big and yes, of course I would read a magazine or watch TV instead of doing homework for example, but not nearly as much.

So my question today is this: is it possible to have a reading overdose? To read so many books that you don’t even want to see a book for the next weeks/months?

Hello guys!

It’s LGBT month! If you didn’t know, Laura over at Laura Plus Books and Gayce over at Fighting Dreamer created the April LGBT month. You can still participate in it if you like and you just have to write at least one post about this topic or read one LGBT book. Of course you can do much more if you want to!

Judge a Book by its Cover

We all know the saying, but how many of us do actually follow it?

Let’s face it. Covers play a very important role in a book. Maybe even the most important role, dare I say? People say that covers shouldn’t affect you when deciding whether you will read a book or not. Focus on the story, they say, on how interesting you think the book will be and just ignore the cover. But it’s right in front of my face! How could I possibly ignore it?
